about

I wrote this song at the beginning of the pandemic as a sort of meditation on my own anxieties and depression. With an ethereal atmosphere and a comforting drone, this is a piece for calming anxiety and healing the inner pain. For letting go.

lyrics

I’m here on my phone
I feel so alone
I’m sitting at home
Feeling so alone

Quarantined here with my thoughts
Left without all that I sought
only truth I can think of
Is what I read you can’t read enough

The weight of the world
I’ve got the weight of the world
And I feel like I’m gonna let you down
And I feel I might let you down

I intake facts they alternate
I turn to post delete, replace
deep inside I feel I’m being crushed
I’m on my knees too weak to stand up

The weight of the world
I’ve got the weight of the world
And I feel like I’m gonna let you down
And I feel I might let you down

What is truth I wish I knew
What I give I’ll give to you

The weight of the world
I’ve got the weight of the world
But I’m gonna let it down.
Yeah I need to set it down

Some of his music is sorrowful, some sardonic and humorous, but all of it comes from a deeply personal place that is easy to connect with because we’ve all been there. Listening to Jacob is like reminiscing with an old friend: not everything was easy, but at least we made it through. ... more
